Don't let emotions and loyalty get in the way of good fantasy football decisions. Fantasy careers end fast. There are players who are past their fantasy prime.

There comes a time when every player, even fantasy hall of famers, lose their value and become bench material or even worse, waived all together. Sometimes this comes with age, a new system, or possibly even injury. This may become hard for certain fantasy general managers to accept, but when you can take the fan out of fantasy decisions, the better off your fantasy football roster.

In the NFC there are actually two teams that don't have the dead fantasy weight Dallas and Green Bay. While in the AFC, there's at least one on every team. You could make the argument that Donald Driver is getting long in the tooth(and he is). But he still gives you decent fantasy value, so he doesn't make the 2009 list. Dallas on the other hand, is fairly loaded if you dismiss Brad Johnson, then again what are you doing picking up Brad Johnson.

Beware of these NFC players in the 2009 fantasy football draft (in no particular order)

NFC

NY Giants-Amani Toomer/WR, Plaxico Burress/WR- Toomer is going into his 14th season in ’09, and Burress makes bigger headlines on the police wire. Both are shaky at best.

Philadelphia Eagles- Kevin Curtis/WR- He has never lived up to the big time possession receiver they thought he’d be.

Arizona Cardinals-Edgerrin James/RB- Forget fantasy career, his playing career may be in jeopardy. Ask Shaun Alexander how quick it is from the penthouse to the outhouse.

San Francisco 49ers-Isaac Bruce/WR-He wouldn’t be on the list, but the quarterback and head coach situation is a mess and those two things will affect him.

Seattle Seahawks-Matt Hasselbeck/QB, Deion Branch/WR- With Mike Holmgren gone, Hasselbeck’s best years are behind him. Branch has been a disappointment.

St. Louis Rams-Torry Holt/WR, Marc Bulger/QB-They used to be the crème of the crop, not anymore. They are part of one of the worst offenses in the league.

Chicago Bears- Rex Grossman/QB- There are just better options out there.

Detroit Lions- Avoid everyone except Calvin Johnson and Kevin Smith.

Atlanta Falcons-Brian Finneran/WR- With Roddy White and Michael Jenkins around Finneran has had few touches.

Carolina Panthers- Muhsin Muhamed/WR- He’s been good for a long times, but 2009 will be his 14th season.

New Orleans Saints-Jeremy Shockey/TE-He was supposed to be their biggest addition in’08, he wasn’t. Luckily they didn’t need him.

Tampa Bay Bucs-Cadillac Williams/RB- He may never be the same after being out over a year and a half. Watch him progress before you acquire him for ’09.
