It's week two of the 2008 Fantasy Football season. Take a look at the best fantasy football wide receivers for week two.

Quarterback injuries and breakout runningback performances of week one dominated fantasy football news in week one. Week two, however, should be an interesting week for fantasy wide receivers. Here is a look the top ten wide receivers for week two of the 2008-2009 fantasy football season.

  1. Plaxico Burress, New York Giants - The New York Giants face the St. Louis Rams this week, a team known for it's not-exactly-stellar defense. Plaxico Burress' receiving yards in week one topped 100, even with Eli Manning focusing on the running game.
  2. Randy Moss, New England Patriots - Even with Tom Brady healthy, Moss would have struggled to match his record-setting 2007 season. With Tom Brady out and Matt Cassel as the starting quarterback, look for Moss to still be a talented enough wide receiver to make it happen. In week one, Randy Moss scored a touchdown and 100 yards, even though Tom Brady was out early in the game.
  3. Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts - Playing the Minnesota Vikings in week two, Peyton Manning knows that his run game will be somewhat limited. He'll take the ball to the air, and with Marvin Harrison to keep the Vikings defense busy, Reggie Wayne will likely see a lot of action.
  4. Hines Ward, Pittsburgh Steelers - Hines Ward has scored at least one touchdown in the last two games against the Cleveland Browns. Even though he'll be sharing the workload with Santonio Holmes, he's still a top wide receiver and should put up nice fantasy numbers against the Browns defense.
  5. Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions - Johnson received 7 passes for 107 yards in the week one game for the Lions and he's developed a nice repoire with Jon Kitna. Against the Packers, Johnson will be a primary target for the passing game, and should at least add a touchdown to the performance he had against the Atlanta Falcons.
  6. Anquan Boldin, Arizona Cardinals - Despite the drama surrounding the team with his obvious desire to be traded, Anquan Boldin performed well in week one, despite the fact that the Cardinals focused largely on their running game. Brett Favre was all over the place in his win against the Dolphins, so a focused Kurt Warner should help Boldin put up strong numbers.
  7. Terrell Owens, Dallas Cowboys - There isn't a top ten list where T.O. doesn't reside. His matchup against a strong Eagles defense will mean he'll be covered. That said, he put up a terrible performance in week 15 of 2007 against the Eagles and he'll want to make that right. Especially because it's Monday night.
  8. T.J. Houshmandzedah, Cincinnati Bengals - A matchup against the Titans isn't an ideal setup for this wide receiver, especially with a rather wobbly Carson Palmer. But Housh is still a solid number two receiver and should be treated as such. He is often the red-zone target, which makes him more ideal than Ocho Cinco for a number two slot.
  9. DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles - Considered a sleeper by many, this rookie proved himself and then some in his NFL debut against the St. Louis Rams. Going up against Dallas this week, he'll still have something to prove, but look to Jackson to get the job done and put up solid fantasy numbers on any roster.
  10. David Patten, New Orleans Saints - Though wide receiver David Patten is not wide receiver Marques Colston , with Marques Colston out for at least 4-6 weeks due to a thumb injury and subsequent surgery, David Patten is a wide receiver worth looking at. He will split the work load with Reggie Bush, but will be a top receiver target for Drew Brees.
