NFL Fantasy Sleepers Watch List for 2009

NFL Players to Keep an Eye On, for Next Years 2009 Fantasy Draft

Sep 30, 2008 Cameron Wong

It's never too early to start preparing for your Fantasy Draft. Even if it's during a regular season or off-season, there are NFL sleeper players to watch.

Any good fantasy owner never just watches an NFL game and roots for his players. A true fantasy guru will be watching for potential pickups and sleeper players who will blow up if not at the end of this year, then certainly next season. While some of these sleeper players are already riding on a bench, by 2009 they could jump up to a #2 or flex position. Here are some names to keep in the back of your mind for the 2009 Fantasy Draft.

AZ Cardinals- TE Leonard Pope, WR Steve Breaston

Pay attention to the QB and Anquan Boldin situation. It could have an effect on the offense and distribution of the ball throughout 2008 and into 2009.

ATL Falcons-WR Roddy White, WR Harry Douglas, WR Michael Jenkins

Matt Ryan is just waiting for his favorite target to develop. Any one of these guys could be the next Manning to Harrison combo.

Buffalo Bills- RB Fred Jackson, WR James Hardy

Hardy could develop into a huge red zone target.

Carolina Panthers- TE Dante Rosario

Rosario will open things up in the middle for Steve Smith.

Chi Bears- TE Greg Olsen

He was supposed to be Jeremy Shockey coming out of Miami. If it does gonna happen, it better happen soon.

Cincy Bengals- WR Antonio Chatman, WR Chris Henry

The Chad Johnson situation will affect this.

Cleveland Browns- RB Jerome Harrison

Jamal Lewis isn’t getting any younger and he takes a beating. Harrison is electric with the ball in his hands.

Dallas Cowboys- WR Miles Austin, WR Sam Hurd, TE Martellus Bennett

With that offense everybody gets paid!

Denver Broncos- WR Eddie Royal

He already should be claimed in every league. By 2009 he could be a #1 option for a fantasy team.

GB Packers- WR Jordy Nelson, WR James Jones

Nelson is like Wes Welker with more size and strength.

Houston Texans- WR Kevin Walter

Texans are still looking for someone opposite Andre Johnson.

Indy Colts- WR Anthony Gonzalez

Remember Brandon Stokley?

KC Chiefs- RB Jamaal Charles

Change of pace back.

Miami Dolphins- TE Anthony Fasano, WR Greg Camarillo

They always seem to be catching balls during games. If they can score more, watch out!

Minn Vikings- TE Visanthe Shiancoe

Vikings need anybody to help that passing game.

NO Saints- WR Robert Meechem, RB Pierre Thomas

Meechem had a huge pre season in 2008, he’ll get better.

NY Giants- TE Kevin Boss

Boss is the main reason why they got rid of Shockey.

NY Jets- WR Chansi Stuckey, TE Dustin Keller

Farve is at his best moving the ball around, and Keller was a high round pick.

Oak Raiders- WR Johnnie Lee Higgins, RB Michael Bush

In a crowded backfield Bush is good enough to fight for playing time.

Pitt Steelers- WR Nate Washington

He’s the 3rd option for now…for now.

Sea Seahawks- WR Courtney Taylor, RB Justin Forsett

Taylor is the only WR with any kind of size, think red zone.

SF 49ers- WR Josh Morgan

He could be a factor by 2009.

Tenn Titans- RB Chris Johnson

Great in 2008, by 2009 he could be a #1 back on your fantasy team.

Wash Redskins- WR Devin Thomas

They spent a high 2nd round on him, he better show something.
